Karma & Karité was born from a meeting of cultures, traditions, and generations of wisdom.
I was born in Athens, raised in Sudan, and carry Greek, Egyptian, and Cypriot heritage. Growing up, Fridays were sacred. They were days spent in hammams, surrounded by steam, sandalwood, rich oils, and nourishing butters. Beauty was never about vanity. It was about care, presence, and honoring the body.
Years later, after becoming a mother of two, I realized I had slowly drifted away from those rituals. Life had become busy, and somewhere between responsibilities and caring for others, I had stopped caring for myself in the way I had been taught.
So I made a simple promise: ten quiet minutes each evening to return to myself.
That promise became the beginning of Karma & Karité.
Through my Ghanaian husband, I was introduced to another tradition rooted in care: the karité tree, known across West Africa as the Tree of Life. For generations, Ghanaian women have harvested shea by hand, transforming its rich butter into one of nature’s most nourishing gifts.

In that moment, everything connected.
The rituals of my upbringing.
The heritage of his homeland.
The wisdom of East and West.
Today, every Karma & Karité formula begins with ethically sourced raw shea butter from Northern Ghana and is crafted with carefully selected botanicals that honor both tradition and modern luxury.
We believe skincare should never feel rushed.
